Harley-Davidson Bike Tools

Harley-Davidson Bike Tools

  • Purchase only a select few tools for your Harley-Davidson bike.

Choosing which Harley-Davidson bike tools to buy can be daunting given how many are on the market. Unless you are a mechanic, it makes sense to buy only a few essential tools to keep with you on your bike. Too many tools means unnecessary expense and weight on your bike, as most repairs will need to be done in a shop.

Tools for the Road

  • A basic tool kit from a Harley dealer or other reputable supplier of motorcycle tools will contain most of what you need for basic roadside repairs. Such kits should contain Allen wrenches, sockets, torx wrenches and screwdrivers of various sizes. Kits range in price and quality from $30 to $200 or more. Add duct tape, a flashlight and flares for added safety. Always travel with a cell phone.

Tools for Home

  • If you plan to do many of your own repairs, you will need to purchase a bike jack and center stand lift. A jack allows you to comfortably work under your bike and gives you easy access to your wheels. A center stand lift keeps your bike safely upright without leaning.

Oil-Change Tools

Changing the oil on your bike can save you money. You will need an appropriately sized filter wrench for removing your oil filter and a drain pan for collecting used oil. Check your owner's manual or deal
